ABOUT US

The Newburgh Ancestry and History Society is a Voluntary Group set up to preserve and archive the various collections of local history, photographs and artefacts that have been donated to the Museum. We operate in the Lower Laing Museum which displays a wide range of Historical Artefacts and Information mainly related to living and working in Newburgh and surrounding area.

The preservation of these artefacts is an important record of  Newburgh’s heritage, its various industries, social and family history for the future education & interest of all.

In November 2023 the Society  awarded Scottish Charity Status by OSCR.

VOLUNTEER OR Support Us

The Society is run solely by volunteers, each having their own expertise in various fields. We are looking for volunteers to enable us to archive our collections and donated items and to show visitors round our collection. Extra volunteers would allow us to possibly open another day in the week.

If you think that you can help us in any  way or if you are just interested in finding out some of the Local History why not pop in and have a chat.

Whether you could come weekly, monthly to help – anything would be appreciated.

Alternatively if you can’t spare any time but would still like to support us you can donate via the link below:
