Last year we ran an exhibition on Newburgh’s evacuees, exploring the memories and experiences of fourteen local people. During WW2, Newburgh was a reception area, and 172 evacuees arrived here on 2nd September 1939 from Edinburgh, by train. Scarecrow Competition

After a few years absence the Scarecrow competition was back in Newburgh. Our entry was “The Laing Star” a pun on the “Lone Star”! There was a great selection of scarecrows all over the town. The winning entry was the Tiger.
